Honey-Soy Steak Strips Over Basmati Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Steak - 1/4" thick |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Green pepper (medium) |
2 cups | 320g / 11oz | White basmati rice - cooked |
Marinade | ||
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Soy sauce |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Honey |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground ginger |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Garlic powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Lemon juice |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Crushed hot red pepper - flakes |
Combine the marinade ingredients, and the meat. Marinate in the fridge overnight.
Cut the pepper in thin strips and fry in a skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes. Add the marinated steak, and stir-fry until meat is no longer pink. Add the marinade juices and 1 cup of water to the skillet and bring to a boil. Simmer until the liquid is reduced to about 1/3.
Arrange steak strips over the basmati, and drizzle the liquid from the frying pan on top.
