Western Beans And Rice (Vegan) Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Vegetable oil |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Chopped onions |
1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Sliced celery |
8 oz | 227g | Canned tomato sauce |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Hot pepper sauce - to 1/2 t. |
3 cups | 480g / 16oz | Cooked pinto beans - drained |
3 cups | 480g / 16oz | Hot cooked brown rice |
In large skillet, cook onions and celery in oil until tender.
Stir in tomato sauce, water, seasonings, and beans.
Heat thoroughly.
Serve over hot rice.
Note: any type of beans may be used in this recipe
