Southwestern Chipotle Baked Beans Recipe - Cooking Index
| 3 | Canned chipotles in adobo, stems - chopped | |

| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | New Mexican chile powder |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Adobo sauce |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Onion - chopped (large) |
| 2 | Garlic - chopped | |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Vegetable oil |
| 1/4 lb | 113g / 4oz | Slab bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Ketchup |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Beer or water |
| 1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Dark brown sugar |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dry mustard |
| 3 cups | 480g / 16oz | Cooked great northern beans |
Saute chipotles, onion, and garlic in oil until soft.
Combine with other ingredients, and mix resulting sauce into the beans.
Bake at 325F for 2 hours, adding water if beans get too dry.
