Red's Prize Winnin' Pintos

Recipe Ingredients

6   Canned jalapeno peppers
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlCayenne pepper
1 teaspoon 5mlBlack pepper
1 tablespoon 15mlChili powder
2 lbs 908g / 32ozPinto beans, dry
1/2 lb 227g / 8ozSalt pork, cubed into 1x1x1/4" pieces
2 lbs 908g / 32ozOnions, chopped (medium)
2   Garlic, minced

Recipe Instructions

Soak the beans overnight. Drain, place in a pot, and refill with water to cover the beans and add everything else. Cook very slowly for 4 to 6 hours.

When the beans are done, test for salt and adjust to your preference. Don't salt in advance, because the salt pork will do that for you.
