Fava Bean Burgers

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup 62g / 2.2ozMulti grain oats
1/8 cup 29mlBran
1/4 cup 59mlWheat germ
1/3 cup 78mlDry potato flakes
3/4 cup 177mlV-8 juice
1   Egg
1   Fava beans - 19 oz. Drained
1 cup 110g / 3.9ozCarrots - shredded
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozOnion - finely chopped
1/4 cup 36g / 1.3ozGreen pepper - finely chopped
  Spices
1/8 teaspoon 0.6mlGarlic powder
1/8 teaspoon 0.6mlWhite pepper
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlOregano
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlBasil
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlRosemary
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlGround sage
4   Tabasco

Recipe Instructions

Place Oats, potato buds, bran, wheat germ in bowl and mix with the V 8. Let stand for 15 minutes. Stir in egg and spices.

Drain Fava beans, place in small bowl and mash with a fork.

Mix vegetables, oat mixture and beans in medium bowl until well blended.

Press firmly into 1/4 lb hamburger press.

Lightly oil non stick fry pan and fry over med heat (325 if using electric fry pan) for approximately 8 minutes per side or until browned and crisp.

Place on cake rack over cookie sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes so inside of burger gets set. Or make thinner burgers.

Cool, wrap individually, freeze.

Spices can be changed to Cajun, Indian, Italian, Mexican
