1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Green peppers - chopped |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Chopped onions |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Chopped olives |
1 | Garlic clove - minced | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Margarine |
10 oz | 284g | Tomato sauce - * see note |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Milk |
3 | Parsley sprigs - chopped | |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Bay leaves - crumbled |
1 | Thyme |
* Original recipe called for one 10-ounce can of tomato soup; I prefer tomato sauce, but use soup if you wish, or try a mixture of the two. The flavored tomato sauces are excellent.
Saute green pepper, onion, olives and garlic in margarine for 5 minutes (or mix olive oil for half the margarine). Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
