Primavera-Marinara Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
2 | Onions - small, chopped | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Olive oil |
4 | Garlic cloves - crushed | |
28 oz | 795g | Tomatoes - crushed |
16 oz | 454g | Tomato sauce |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Small broccoli flowerets |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Small cauliflower flowerets |
2 | Carrots - cut in diag. Slices | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Parsley - dried |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Leaf basil - dried |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Leaf oregano - dried |
1. Cook onion in oil in large nonstick skillet until softened, about 6 minutes.
2. Add garlic, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, parsley, basil and oregano. Bring to boiling. Lower heat; partially cover and simmer 30 minutes.
3. Serve 1/2 cup sauce over 1 cup cooked pasta.
