No-Salt Spaghetti Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Onions - chopped (medium) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Olive oil or Pam - (or less) |
2 | Minced garlic | |
4 | No-salt tomatoes | |
2 | No-salt tom paste | |
1 cup | 237ml | Red wine |
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Dried oregano leaves |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Pepper |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Sugar |
In a deep saucepan, cook onion in oil or PAM until soft.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
Taste after 1 1/2 hours and adjust seasoning.
Sauteed mushrooms are a great addition.
