Marinara Sauce - 5 Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 | Italian tomatoes - crushed with your hands | |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Olive oil |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Red wine |
| 1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion chopped (large) |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dried sweet basil |
| 3 | Garlic - minced | |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dried oregano |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Tomato paste |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
| 28 oz | 795g | Tomato puree |
| Salt and pepper to taste |
Sauteeonion in oil until lightly browned, then add the garlic and sauteefor 1 minute more. Add all other ingredients and simmer 2 hours stirring often to prevent sticking.
