Lemon Sauce (Amish) Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Butter |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Sugar |
4 teaspoons | 20ml | All-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Nutmeg |
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Grated lemon peel |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Lemon juice |
In a small saucepan, melt butter. Stir in sugar, flour and nutmeg to blend.
Add water, lemon peel and juice. Cook and stir over medium at until thickened and bubbly. Cook for 1 minute longer.
Makes 1 1/3 cups sauce.
