Gingered-Honey Fruit Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 118ml | Apple juice |
1/3 cup | 78ml | Honey |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Grated peeled gingerroot |
1 | Cinnamon stick - (3-inch) | |
6 cups | 1422ml | Sliced nectarines - (2 pounds) |
1 1/2 tablespoons | 22ml | Fresh lemon juice |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Water |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Cornstarch |
Combine first 4 ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Add nectarines; reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes.
Combine lemon juice, water, and cornstarch; stir well. Add cornstarch mixture to fruit mixture; bring to a boil over medium heat, and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; discard cinnamon stick. Yield: 5 cups (serving size: 1/2 cup sauce).
