French Quarter Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - grated |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Salad oil |
1 | Tomato sauce | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Lemon juice |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Worcestershire sauce |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Prepared mustard |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
Cook onion in hot oil until tender. Add remaining ingredients; simmer uncovered 15 minutes.
Makes enough sauce to baste 4 pounds loin back ribs or spareribs.
