Chunky Herb-Tomato Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Olive oil |
| 1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Chopped onion |
| 4 | Garlic - minced | |
| 1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Sugar |
| 3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Dried basil |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dried oregano |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
| 1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Salt |
| 35 oz | 994g | Plum tomatoes - (1 can) undrained |
Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat until hot.
Add onion and garlic; saute 3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.
Yield: 5 cups (serving size: 1/2 cup).
