9 | Rome apples (medium) | |
4 | Bartlett pears (medium) | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Margarine |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Dry white wine |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Sugar |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Ground ginger |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Ground cinnamon |
Place 6 apples and the pears on a baking sheet. Bake at 375Ffor 45 minutes or until tender. Let cool 20 minutes.
Peel, core, and cube baked fruit. Place in a blender or food processor, and process until smooth. Pour into a large saucepan, and set aside.
Peel, core, and slice remaining 3 apples; add to pan. Add margarine and next 4 ingredients; cook over medium heat 10 minutes or until apple is tender, stirring constantly.
