Buffalo Burgers Recipe - Cooking Index
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vegetable oil |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Finely chopped onion |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Lean ground buffalo or ground round |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Minced fresh thyme |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
1 | Egg - lightly beaten | |
Vegetable cooking spray | ||
1/2 cup | 118ml | Dry vermouth |
4 | Hamburger buns - (1-1/2-ounce) split | |
4 | Lettuce leaves | |
4 | Tomato slices | |
4 | Onion slices |
Heat the oil a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 cup onion; saute 3 minutes or until tender.
Combine sauteed onion, meat, fresh thyme, salt, pepper, and egg in a bowl, and stir well. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a 3-1/2-inch patty.
Coat skillet with cooking spray, and place over medium-high heat until hot. Add patties; cook 3 minutes. Turn the patties over; reduce heat to medium-low, and cook 1 minute.
Add the vermouth; cover and cook an additional 2 minutes. Serve patties on hamburger buns with lettuce, tomato, and onion.
