Salsa De Jitomate Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Olive oil |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Onion - fine chopped (medium) |
2 | Garlic - chopped | |
3 | Tomatoes - peeled and seeded | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Sugar |
2 | Chiles serranos - chopped | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Freshly ground black pepper |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cilantro - chopped |
Fry the onions and garlic until limp.
Add remaining ingredients except cilantro and cook gently, 15 minutes. Add cilantro and cook 1-2 minutes more.
Serve hot or cold.
Makes 2 cups.
