1 | Fresh jalapeno - green | |
1/3 lb | 151g / 5.3oz | Tomatillos |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Tomato - ripe (medium) |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Onion - roughly chopped |
2 | Garlic | |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cumin |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cloves |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Mexican oregano |
1/3 teaspoon | 1.7ml | Salt |
Combine chiles and dry ingredients and roast in hot frying pan for 1-2 minutes.
Place 1 cup of water in sauce pan and add all ingredients and cook uncovered for 10-15 minutes.
Transfer to blender and puree into a smooth sauce.
Serve at room temperature.
