Peppery Mushroom Burgers (4 PTS) Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Sliced fresh mushrooms - (8 oz) divided | |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Lean ground round |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Instant minced onion |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Worcestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Freshly ground pepper |
Cooking spray | ||
1/4 cup | 59ml | Dry red wine or canned beef broth |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Water |
Coarsely chop 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms. Combine beef, chopped mushrooms,
onion and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl; shape into 4 equal patties, 1/4
inch thick. Sprinkle pepper evenly on both sides of patties. Coat a 12"
nonstick skillet with cooking spray and place over medium-high heat until
hot. Add patties and cook 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until done.
Transfer to a serving platter and keep warm. Add wine, water and remaining
mushrooms to skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, scraping
particles that cling to bottom about 3 minutes or until mushrooms are
tender. Pour mushroom mixture over patties.
