Maple Pecan Tart (6 PTS) Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Flour |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Sugar |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Veg shortening |
3 1/2 tablespoons | 52ml | Ice water |
Cooking spray | ||
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Low fat granola without raisins |
1 cup | 328g / 11oz | Maple syrup |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Salt |
3 teaspoons | 15ml | Egg whites (large) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Egg (large) |
1/3 | Pecans - chopped |
1) Preheat to F 450º
2) Combine first 3 ingredients in bowl. Cut in shortening. Add ice water, 1
TBS at a time until moist.
3) Press mixture into 4 inch circle on heavy duty plastic and cover with
plastic. Roll into an 11 inch circle and chill for 10 mins.
4) Remove plastic and fit into 9 inch round removable bottom tart pan coated
with cooking spray.
5) Break up large pieces of granola and sprinkle into pastry shell.
6) Combine maple syrup and next four ingredients, stir with whisk. Pour
over granola, and sprinkle with pecans Place on baking sheet.
7) Bake at 450 for 10 mins. Reduce temp to 325 and bake 20 mins. Let cool
completely on wire rack.
