Banana Nut Bread (5 PTS) Recipe - Cooking Index
Flavorful and basic banana bread.
Serves: 12 people1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Butter |
2/3 cup | 106g / 3.7oz | Light brown sugar |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vanilla |
2 | Eggs - well beaten | |
1 1/4 cups | 296ml | Mashed bananas-ripe |
1 3/4 cups | 109g / 3.8oz | White flour |
2 1/4 teaspoons | 11ml | Baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped nuts |
Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease a loaf pan. Cream together butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla. Gently fold in mashed bananas until well-mixed, then very gradually stir in mixed dry ingredients. Move quickly but add just a little at a time. Fold in nuts. Spread batter in loaf pan and bake for about 1 hour. Center will spring back to the touch, toothpick test will be clean and the bread will be pulled away from the sides of the pan.
