Tyler Pie Recipe - Cooking Index
3/4 cup | 148g / 5.2oz | White sugar |
1/4 lb | 113g / 4oz | Butter or margarine |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Brown sugar |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Milk |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Cornstarch |
2 | Eggs - separated | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
1 | Unbaked pastry shell | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Nutmeg |
Mix sugars and cornstarch, add milk and cook a little. Add butter and egg yolks and bring to a good boil. Remove from fire and add beaten egg whites, vanilla and nutmeg. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 325Funtil firm and brown, about 30-35 minutes.
