Streusel Apple Pie

Recipe Ingredients

1   Egg
1 cup 237mlSour cream - room temp
3/4 cup 148g / 5.2ozSugar
2 tablespoons 30mlFlour
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlVanilla
1   Salt
2 1/4 cups 533mlCooking apples - finely chpd- peeled (2-3 apples)
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlGrated lemon peel
1   Single-crust pie shell
  - unbaked
  Streusel Topping
1/2 cup 99g / 3.5ozSugar
1/3 cup 20g / 0.7ozFlour
3/4 teaspoon 3.8mlCinnamon
1/4 cup 49g / 1.7ozButter

Recipe Instructions

In large bowl beat egg, stir in sour cream, sugar, flour, vanilla, and salt to blend thoroughly. Fold in apples and lemon peel, pour into pie shell.

Bake 450F, 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350F, bake 25-30 minutes until crust is golden brown.

Sprinkle Streusel Topping evenly over pie.

Bake 15 minutes longer.

Remove to rack to cool slightly. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate.

STREUSEL TOPPING; In sm bowl mix sugar, flour, cinnamon. With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter to make a crumble mixture.
