Squash Pie Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/4 cups | 296ml | Mashed cooked winter squash |
3/4 cup | 120g / 4.2oz | Packed brown sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Molasses |
1 1/4 teaspoons | 6.3ml | Ground cinnamon |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Salt |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Ground nutmeg |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Ground ginger |
3 | Eggs - beaten | |
1 | Evaporated milk | |
9 | Unbaked pastry shell | |
Whipped cream - optional |
In a bowl, combine the first eight ingredients with a wire whisk. Stir in mil. Pour into pie shell.
Bake at 450F for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350 F bake for 50-55 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
Cool.
Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
