German Chocolate Pie Recipe - Cooking Index
3 cups | 594g / 20oz | Sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
7 tablespoons | 105ml | Baking cocoa |
2 cups | 186g / 6.6oz | Coconut - flaked |
13 oz | 369g | Evaporated milk |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Pecans - chopped |
4 | Eggs - lg, beaten | |
2 | Unbaked 9-inch pie shells | |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter or regular margarine |
Melt the margarine and set aside.
Combine the sugar and baking cocoa in a bowl.
Stir in the evaporated milk, eggs, melted butter or margarine, and vanilla, blending well.
Stir in the coconut and pecans and turn into two unbaked pie shells.
Bake in a 350F oven for 40 minutes or until set around the edges. Cool on racks.
Makes 2 pies of 6 servings each.
