Frankie's Chocolate Pie Recipe - Cooking Index
2 cups | 474ml | Milk |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
4 tablespoons | 60ml | Cocoa - sifted |
3/4 | Margarine or butter | |
3 | Eggs - divided | |
3/4 cup | 148g / 5.2oz | Sugar |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Vanilla |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Flour - sifted |
Meringue | ||
3 | Egg whites | |
6 tablespoons | 90ml | Sugar |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Vanilla |
Combine all ingredients except egg whites. Cook over low heat stirring frequently until thick. Pour into cooked pie shell and top with meringue.
Meringue:
Beat egg whites until they start to peak. Add sugar gradually while beating until all is used. Add vanilla. Spread over pie and bake in 350F oven until lightly browned.
