1 1/4 cups | 78g / 2.8oz | All-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cinnamon |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Baking powder |
1 1/2 cups | 219g / 7.7oz | Shredded cheddar cheese |
1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Butter or margarine - melted |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Milk |
Preheat oven to 400F. Lightly butter 8x8x2-inch square or 11x7x2-inch baking pan. Set aside.
Combine apples that have been peeled cored and thinly sliced, 3/4 cup of the sugar, 1/4 cup of the flour and the cinnamon in large bowl; toss together.
Spread evenly in prepared pan. Combine remaining 1 cup flour, remaining 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder and cheese in large bowl; toss together to combine. Add butter and milk, stirring until just combined.
Spoon cheese mixture over apple mixture in pan.
Bake at 400F for 30-35 minutes or until topping is crisp and golden and apples are tender.
Serve warm.
