Abigail Van Buren's Pecan Pie

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup 328g / 11ozWhite corn syrup
1 cup 198g / 7ozBrown sugar
1/3 teaspoon 1.7mlSalt
1/3 cup 78mlButter or margarine - melted
1 teaspoon 5mlVanilla
3   Eggs - slightly beaten
1   Pie shell
1 cup 237mlWhole pecans - shelled

Recipe Instructions

Combine 1 c. white corn syrup, 1 c. brown sugar, 1/3 t. salt, 1/3 c. butter or margarine (melted), and 1 t. vanilla.  Mix well. Add 3 slightly beaten eggs. Pour into unbaked 9-in. pie shell.

Sprinkle 1 heaping cup shelled whole pecans over all.  Bake in preheated 350F oven for approximately 45 minutes.
