Hot Sauerkraut Recipe - Cooking Index
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Fat or butter |
3/4 cup | 46g / 1.6oz | Diced onions |
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Sauerkraut - drained |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Paprika |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Sugar |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
Melt the fat in a saucepan and brown the onions lightly. Add the sauerkraut, pepper, paprika, sugar and water. Cover loosely and cook over low heat 1 hour. Serves 4 to 6.
