Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe - Cooking Index
1/4 lb | 113g / 4oz | Butter |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Granulated sugar |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar |
1 | Egg - beaten | |
1 1/8 cups | 70g / 2.5oz | Flour - sifted |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Baking soda - dissolved in |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Water |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Hot water |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Vanilla extract |
6 oz | 170g | Chocolate bits - (1 pkg) |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped walnuts |
Cream the butter and beat in the granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda. Work into the butter mixture. Stir in the hot water, vanilla, chocolate bits and nuts. Drop by the teaspoon onto a greased cooky sheet.
Bake in a 375 degree oven 10 minutes or until browned. Makes about 40 cookies.
