Carrot And Apple Tzimmes

Recipe Ingredients

4 cups 440g / 15ozGrated carrots
1 tablespoon 15mlFine barley
3/4 cup 177mlGrated apples
8 tablespoons 120mlButter or fat
1/2 cup 118mlWater
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
2 teaspoons 10mlSugar
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlNutmeg

Recipe Instructions

Combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan. Cover and cook over low heat 2 hours, or until the barley is soft. Watch carefully while cooking and add more water if necessary. Serves 6.
