Spinach Tura Recipe - Cooking Index
3 cups | 711ml | Tightly packed finely sliced spinach - (i use frozen, thawed) |
1 cup | 93g / 3.3oz | Freshly grated coconut |
2 | Garlic - chopped, up to 3 | |
2 | Shallots - chopped (i use ordinary onions), up to 3 | |
2 | Green chiles - chopped (i've used various kinds of hot stuff) | |
1/2 | Fresh ginger - grated | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cayenne |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Turmeric |
Steam or thaw spinach and saute lightly.
Blend remaining ingredients to a fine paste adding a little water and add this paste to the spinach. Heat through and serve. To round out into a main dish I plunk a poached egg on top.
