Baked Herring And Potatoes Recipe - Cooking Index
| 6 | Salt herring fillets | |
| 3 tablespoons | 45ml | Butter |
| 4 | Boiled potatoes - peeled and sliced | |
| 2 | Onions - sliced | |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Dry bread crumbs |
Soak the herring overnight in cold water to cover. Drain and cut into 1-inch pieces.
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a baking dish. Arrange layers of the potatoes, herring and onions in it, starting and ending with the potatoes. Sprinkle with the bread crumbs and dot with remaining butter. Bake in a 400 degree oven 25 minutes.
