2 1/2 cups | 156g / 5.5oz | Whole-wheat flour |
1 1/4 teaspoons | 6.3ml | Salt |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter or margarine - softened |
1 1/3 cups | 315ml | Yogurt - unflavored |
Vegetable oil - for frying |
Mix flour and salt; cut in butter until crumbly looking. Add yogurt; mix well. Roll 1/8 inch thick; cut with floured 4 inch round cutter or cut in squares or diamonds. Fry in hot deep fat at 385f on frying thermometer until puffy and golden brown on both sides. Or fry in 1 inch hot oil in a deep skillet. Drain on paper towels. Makes about 3 dozen.
