| 600 | Water - (4 cups) | |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Groundnut oil - (peanut oil) |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Mustard seeds |

| 3 teaspoons | 15ml | Chile powder |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Turmeric |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Coriander-cumin powder - (dhania-jeera) |
| Salt - to taste | ||
| 4 | Kokum leaves | |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Jaggery |
| Grated coconut - for garnish |
Boil the potatoes with 2 cups of water. Do not keep in water for a longer time. Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes.
In a pan, heat oil and season with mustard seed and gram flour. Add potatoes, chile, turmeric, dhania-jeera, salt, kokum, jaggery and 2 cups of water. Simmer for 3-5 min. Garnish with grated coconut and serve.
