Recipe Ingredients

1 cup 237mlMoong dal
1 teaspoon 5mlTurmeric powder
1 teaspoon 5mlCumin seeds - crushed
1   Garlic - (crushed), optional
1/2 cup 46g / 1.6ozCoconut, dried - optional
  Few curry leaves
  Salt - to taste

Recipe Instructions

Dry roast the moong dal on medium heat for ten minutes. Cook it with sufficient water and turmeric. Grind the coconut with a little water and cumin seeds. Add to the boiling dal along with the curry leaves and salt.
