Indian-Style Steak Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Boneless beef sirloin steak - cut 1 inch thick |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Bottled barbecue sauce |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Peanut butter |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Finely shredded orange peel |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Orange juice - (1 to 2) |
Slash fat on edges of steak at 1 inch intervals. Place on unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 3 to 4 inches from the heat to desired doneness, turning once. ( allow 10 to 12 min for medium rare, or 12 -15 min for medium.)
Meanwhile, stir together barbecue sauce, peanut butter, orange peel and enough juice to make a sauce of desired consistency. Brush sauce onto meat during the last few minutes of broiling. Heat any remaining sauce till boiling. Serve with meat. Makes 6 servings.
