Idli - 2 Recipe - Cooking Index
3 cups | 480g / 16oz | Raw rice |
1 cup | 237ml | Urad dhal |
Salt - to taste |
Wash and soak dhal and rice separately for 5 to 6 hours. Grind the dhal until very fine. Remove and set aside. Then grind the rice fine to sooji consistency. Remove and mix well with dhal paste and salt to taste. Cover and keep it for fermenting for 8 hours. Grease katoris or idli cooker well with a little oil. Pour batter in individual katoris or idli cooker and steam for 15 to 20 minutes.
Serves 4 - 6.
