2 cups | 474ml | Yogurt - (1 day old) |
1 | Turmeric | |
1 | Stem curry leaves | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Chile powder |
1 | Ginger | |
2 | Green chiles | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Oil |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Black mustard seeds |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cumin seeds |
1 | Asafetida | |
200 | Pumpkin - (or any other vegetable) | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | -- ¥ |
1 | Flour - (besan) | |
Salt - to taste |
1. Boil vegetables until firm and cooked.
2. Beat the yogurt. Mix the gram flour in it, without lumps.
3. Add turmeric, salt, chile powder, curry leaves and a cup of water to the yogurt.
4. Cook. Allow it to thicken, stirring it all the while, to stop it from boiling over. Simmer on low heat. Remove after it is well blended.
5. Fry mustard seeds, cumin seeds and asafetida. Season.
