Bhindi Ki Sabji - Curried Okra Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Okra - cut 1 inch lenghts |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Onion - minced (medium) |
4 tablespoons | 60ml | Vegetable oil |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cumin seeds |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Turmeric |
1/3 teaspoon | 1.7ml | Ground red pepper |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Ground coriander |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Graram masala |
Salt - to taste |
Wash and cut okra. Heat 4 tablespoons salid oil and fry cumin seeds a second, add onions and cook for 10 minutes, until ligh brown. Add okra, turmeric, red pepper, coriander and salt. Mix. Cover and cook over medium for 10 minutes. Add garam masala and cook covered for another 10 minutes.
