Bhindi Ki Sabji (curried Okra) Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Okra - cut 1" pieces |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Onion - minced (medium) |
4 tablespoons | 60ml | Vegetable oil |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cumin seeds |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Turmeric |
1/3 teaspoon | 1.7ml | Ground red pepper |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Ground coriander |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Graram masala |
Salt - to taste |
Wash and cut okra. Heat 4 tablespoons salad oil and fry cumin seeds a second, add onions and cook for 10 minutes, until light brown. Add okra, turmeric, red pepper, coriander and salt. Mix.
Cover and cook over medium for 10 minutes. Add garam masala and cook covered for another 10 minutes.
