Basic Gravy Recipe - Cooking Index

3 | Garlic - (3 to 4) | |

4 | Dry red chillies - (deseeded) | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Curds |
6 | Cashews broken - (6 to 7) | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Oil |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Red chilli powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dhania powder |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Turmeric powder |
3 | Asafoetida - (3 to 4) | |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Garam masala |
3 | Cinnamon-clove powder - (3 to 4) | |
Salt to taste |
Grind all ingredients together except oil (use mixer if hand grinder not
available).
Heat oil, add paste, stir fry till oil separates.
Add 1 cup water, bring to boil, simmer till thick.
