1 | Onion - coarsely chopped | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Sunflower oil |
1 cup | 237ml | Lemon juice |
1 cup | 237ml | Natural yogurt |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Tikka paste or sauce |
Tikka Paste | ||
1 cup | 237ml | Yogurt |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Curry powder |
1 | Nutmeg powder | |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | White pepper |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cayenne pepper |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Whole cumin seeds |
1 | Saffron - optional | |
Salt and pepper | ||
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Fresh garlic paste |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Fresh ginger paste |
Combine onion, oil, lemon juice, yogurt and Tikka paste or sauce. Add jumbo tiger prawns and coat thoroughly. Cover and chill for 5 hours.
Preheat grill to hot. Using metal skewers, pierce centers of each piece until full. Balance skewers on a grill pan and cook for 5 minutes each side, or until juices run clean. Serve hot with a spinach salad and soft crusty rolls
Tikka paste: Combine all ingredients and mix well.
