Spicy Maple Basting Sauce For Grilled Lake Trout Recipe - Cooking Index
1/4 cup | 82g / 2.9oz | Maple syrup |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Vinegar - white or raspberry |
1 | Ginger root - peeled | |
- and minced | ||
1 | Garlic - minced | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dried hot red pepper flakes |
1 | Salt |
Combine all the ingredients in a small heavy saucepan and simmer until reduced to about 1/2 cup.
Cool and pour over the fish as a marinade for 20-40 minutes.
Turn the fish once to ensure both sides soak in the flavor.
Drain and reserve for brushing on during grilling.
