Grilled Cheese And Apple Special Recipe - Cooking Index
2 oz | 56g | Shredded part-skim |
- mozzarella cheese | ||
1/2 | Granny smith apple - unpeeled (small) | |
- and coarsely shredded | ||
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Ground cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Ground nutmeg |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Reduced-calorie margarine |
4 | Whole wheat bread - 1 oz. Ea |
Combine cheese, apple and spices in a small bowl and mix well, tossing to distribute spices evenly.
Spread 1/2 tsp of margarine on one side of each slice of the bread. Divide apple mixture onto dry sides of 2 slices of bread.
Top with remaining bread, making sure the buttered sides of the bread are facing out.
Preheat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and place sandwiches on griddle/pan and press top slices of bread down firmly with spatula. Cook until well toasted on both sides, turning several times during cooking.
