Egg white | ||
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Fine dry bread crumbs |
1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Finely shredded carrot |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Finely chopped onion |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Finely chopped green pepper |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Pepper |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Grated parmesan cheese |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Ground turkey or lean beef |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Tomato - sliced (medium) |
In a large bowl combine egg white and bread crumbs.(if using beef, stir in 2 T water) Stir in carrot, onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper. Add Parmesan cheese and ground meat; mix well.
Shape meat mixture into four 3/4" thick patties. Spray a cold grill rack with Pam.
Then place rack on grill.
Grill burgers on an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 7 minutes. Turn and grill 8-11 minutes or till no pink remains. Place 1 tomato slice atop each burger and grill 1 minute more.
