Spargel In Weisser Sosse (White Asparagus In White Sauce)

Recipe Ingredients

29 oz 823gWhite asparagus - (2 cans)
2 tablespoons 30mlMargarine
2 tablespoons 30mlUnbleached flour
1/2 cup 118ml-- asparagus liquid
1/2 cup 118mlMilk
4 oz 113gHam - julienne
1/8 teaspoon 0.6mlNutmeg - freshly grated
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlSalt

Recipe Instructions

Drain asparagus spears, reserving 1/2 cup of the liquid. Heat margarine in a saucepan.

Add flour; blend. Gradually pour in asparagus liquid and milk.

Stir constantly over low heat until sauce thickens and bubbles. Add cooked ham and seasonings.

Gently stir in asparagus spears; heat through but do NOT boil.

Serve in preheated serving dish.
