Cabbage Loaf Recipe - Cooking Index
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Ground beef |
2 1/2 cups | 592ml | Shredded cabbage |
Salt | ||
1/2 | Chopped green bell pepper | |
1 | Minced garlic clove | |
3 | Eggs | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Black pepper |
4 | Bacon strips | |
1 | Tomato paste - (6 oz) | |
American cheese slices |
Mix all ingredients together, thoroughly. Pour mixture into a 9 x 5 x 3" loaf baking pan. Place bacon strips on top. Bake for 1 1/2 hours in a 350F oven.
After 45 minutes, you may have to drain bacon grease. During the last 15 minutes, add tomato paste on top. Turn oven off. After 15 minutes, add cheese slices to top and allow to melt.
