Burgers Divan Recipe - Cooking Index

1 teaspoon | 5ml | Worcestershire sauce |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Dry mustard |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Dried oregano - crushed |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Ground beef |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Mayonnaise or salad dressing |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Milk |

1 | Zucchini - thinly sliced (small) | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Grated parmesan cheese |
4 | Hamburger buns or Kaiser rolls - split and toasted |
In skillet cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving drippings. Crumble bacon. Cook onion in reserved drippings until tender. Combine bacon, cooked onion, Worcestershire, salt, mustard and oregano. Add ground beef; mix well.
Shape into four 1/2 inch thick patties. Broil 3 inches from heat until desired doneness, turning once (allow about 10 minutes total time for medium). Combine mayonnaise and milk.
Top each burger with 1 tomato slice and a few zucchini slices. Dollop burgers with mayonnaise mixture; sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Broil about 1 minute longer. Serve on buns or rolls.
