Garlic Shrimp - Goong Kratiem Prik

Recipe Ingredients

  Marinade
8   Crushed garlic
2 tablespoons 30mlCilantro root - minced
1 teaspoon 5mlWhite pepper
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
2 tablespoons 30mlFish sauce (nam pla)
1 1/2 tablespoons 22mlSugar
  Shrimp
1 lb 454g / 16ozShrimp - shelled, deveined
3 tablespoons 45mlOil
  Garnish
1   Tomato - cut into wedges
1   Cucumber - sliced

Recipe Instructions

Place marinade ingredients in jar of blender and puree.

Pour marinade and shrimp into a plastic Ziploc bag and marinate in refrigerator for 2-4 hours.

In a hot pan, add oil and saute shrimp until pink. Do not overcook.

This recipe can also be used for grilling shrimp on skewers.

The garnish of tomato and cucumber slices adds freshness to this rich spicy dish, which should be served with plenty of fresh vegetables.
