Marinade | ||
8 | Crushed garlic | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Cilantro root - minced |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | White pepper |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Fish sauce (nam pla) |
1 1/2 tablespoons | 22ml | Sugar |
Shrimp | ||
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Shrimp - shelled, deveined |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Oil |
Garnish | ||
1 | Tomato - cut into wedges | |
1 | Cucumber - sliced |
Place marinade ingredients in jar of blender and puree.
Pour marinade and shrimp into a plastic Ziploc bag and marinate in refrigerator for 2-4 hours.
In a hot pan, add oil and saute shrimp until pink. Do not overcook.
This recipe can also be used for grilling shrimp on skewers.
The garnish of tomato and cucumber slices adds freshness to this rich spicy dish, which should be served with plenty of fresh vegetables.
