Green Beans In Fresh Butter Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Green beans |
Salt - as needed | ||
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Unsalted butter |
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste |
Cut the string beans in approximately 2-inch lengths, diagonally.
Bring a large pan of heavily salted water to a boil. Add the beans and boil for 3 or 4 minutes, or until barely tender.
Drain and refresh in iced water for 1 minute. Drain and dry well.
When ready to serve, heat the butter in a saute pan until it is foamy. Add the beans and toss in the butter for 1 or 2 minutes, until heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve in a heated serving bowl or arrange attractively on each plate as an accompaniment to an entree.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
